Learning and Skills for Sustainable Food & Farming...

Sector skills Development
The government is very keen to development agreements between employers and educational and training providers. With TU Reps both on SSCs and at work, we have a real opportunity to promote sustaianbility that is more than a word, but includes our values.

The biggest bugbear to developing generic skils for environmental practice or sustainablity, is that skills development is sector specific. I authored the SDEP  Learning Guide for SSCs to incorporate sustainability .

Nearly 20 sectors skills councils - they have a responsibility to sustainable development - but how can they develop generic standards? ANS: One (or two) go and the others follow...Who should it be..construction...or food, or farming..or both..
