Somebody in your food chain must make sure that wherever animals are transported:
- animals have water, feed and 24 hours rest before starting a journey
- animals are fit for the journey
- transport (including trailers) does not cause injury or unnecessary suffering
- competent and trained people load, unload and transport animals
- vehicles meet the construction rules and are appropriate for the species and journey
- carry the correct documents
- meet the cleansing and disinfection rules.
