We thought this draft letter might be of help. It has been written to address the supply of food that has been genetically modified, however it can be adopted to fit other criteria you may have in your policy:

Please find enclosed a copy of our Sustainable Food Policy. As you will note the policy states that we will not knowingly use genetically engineered foods or products containing genetically modified organisms (GMO). We hope you share our commitment to healthy and safe food and that you will help us achieve this objective and we do appreciate the challenge of carrying a totally GMO - free product line.
We request verification from yourselves that all products and their ingredients that we purchase from you are certified 100% non-GMO ingredients.
Where product samples have been independantly tested please make test results available to us upon request.
