Learning and Skills...

There are many examples of "good practice" throughout the country in terms of providing fresher, healthier food. But there seems to be little coherence and co-ordination. One way this could emerge is for people at work to develop skills in how to deal with these issues.

In order for people to ask the right questions, assess the responses and implement plans for change, they need to develop recognised skills. We use our own "skills matrix" to determine what people CAN DO at work. We recognise that people at work can see what is going on much better than anybody outside, and so welcome any input to generate

The Sustainable Food Guide is set up to run both horizontally and vertically:

Vocational
The menu along the top of the SFGuide takes you through the following steps - Carry out a Review, Determine Policy, Involve others, Set Targets, Implement Plan, Check Progress and Promote Improvements, and outlines the various roles for managers, autonomous and supervised employees.

Educational
Look at any of the Issues in the left hand navigation bar, and follow through to find out Information about the relevant codes, standards and laws, possible Plans for action, and Links to other appropriate organisations.

Learning Support
You will find in the "Support" bar (top left) Search, Site Map, Tour, FAQs, Glossary, Seminar and other learning support.
